Committee Overview
17 member dioceses are represented on the various committees serving the Board of Directors. The Executive Committee is comprised of the Chair of the Board, Treasurer and Secretary. Pat Kelly of the Diocese of Youngstown leads the Executive Committee, Stephen Bell of the Diocese of St. Augustine leads the Underwriting Committee, Mary Beth Koenig of the Diocese of Austin leads the Finance Committee, Deacon John Eric Munson of the Diocese of Las Cruces leads the Risk Control Committee and Tom Buckley of the Archdiocese of St. Louis leads the Governance Committee.
BPIC Vermont Domicile Group Reinsurance Captive
BPIC works with professional firms approved by the domicile of Vermont captive regulators for services related to oversight of the books & records (captive management), audit, investments, legal and actuary. BPIC Member Diocese of Burlington serves as a domicile resident representative.
BPIC Meetings' Overview
Annual Meeting of Members - held each Spring (each BPIC member has the opportunity to send one representative with travel expenses fully funded by BPIC)
Board Meets 3 Times a Year Plus A Separate Strategic Planning Meeting (usually one board meeting is held in Vermont, the domicile of the captive)
Committees meet Quarterly virtually using Microsoft Teams
Given the Catholic affiliation of this nonprofit captive, meetings include prayer and in person sessions may include Bishop Paprocki celebrating the Liturgy.
